The IPCC scientists point out that climate change interacts with global trends such as unsustainable use of natural resources and growing urbanization. Exceeding this level in warming will further aggravate the impacts, "some of which will be irreversible." As the UN Secretary-General António Guterres said "Today's IPCC report is an atlas of human suffering and a damning indictment of failed climate leadership."
